Hey Stylish!

I have always been fascinated by the work of the famous stylist Patricia Field in the Sex and the City. Even though, she viewed Carrie Bradshaw as a fashion risk taker, many of her outfits were so fashion forward and effortlessly chic at the same time. I really enjoy her outfits in Paris, so feminine and avant-garde at the same time. I tried to adapt this aesthetic into my today’s outfit by taking the feminine silhouettes and mixing them with a bold print mixing technique.  Check out some great Carrie Bradshaw inspirations:

 Hey, Stylish!

Weird and unusually beautiful shoes are having a moment this year. Designers are using unconventional materials and silhouettes to enhance the boldness of the nowadays style. I like the notion of wearing the art on your feet… and wearable art itself. The unusual and unique pieces do not necessarily only come from the runway, here are some of my favorite sources for unique and affordable footwear:

  1. Jeffrey Campbell. My favorite shoe designer and beloved shoe brand. Campbell is an  LA based shoe designer that creates quirky, fresh and super trendy heels, flats and platforms. You can see a lot of IT girls wearing his designs. I own around 7 pairs of Jeffrey Campbell shoes and would love to expand my collection.
  2. Poshmark. A platform for recycling your old wardrobe finds online. You can find a lot of unique, vintage or designer shoes there at affordable prices ( spoiler alert: Jeffrey Campbell as well!!!). The best part about it is that you can bargain and propose your own price.
  3. Y.R.U. Another cool and young brand. It is pretty edgy and has a great variety of Lolita, Goth, and rock chic shoe gear.
  4. eBay. This is a no brainer. You can find anything on eBay, including unique and crazy shoes. My favorites are this and that.
  5. DollsKill. A cool website for one of a kind piece for every taste: edgy, flirty, romantic, punk and etc. They also have huge flash sales very often.

Let me know what are your favorite places to buy the inspirational footwear! If you want to find some new inspirations for unique purses, check out my blog post about it.

Happy 4th of July or How to wear a flag

Hey, Stylish!

Happy 4th of July all the stylish people from the US! As you know, it’s a tradition to wear the flag abbreviatures for the celebration and I am so happy to experiment with it. The flag theme has always been the inspiration for many designers and you can notice this trend in Balenciaga‘s and Balmain‘s collections. If you want to adopt this trend in real life, try to use it with a humor and mix it up with accessories (in my case a Breton hat). I think the most interesting inspirations are from:

Victor and Rolf:

Hey, Stylish!

A while ago I was very shy to use print on print but after last Prada’s collection, I was inspired so much by the daring, bold combinations that were weirdly pleasant and calming to the eye. If you want to use print on print and make it all come together harmoniously, you should use a formula: one print treated as a basic color+another as a complimentary. For instance, in my look, I treated leopard print as a basic color and stripes as a print itself and this clash created a calm, yet bold combination. I tried experimenting with the leopard print a while ago, but I think it was a much obvious combination. What do you think? If you need some inspirations, check out runway:

Hey, Stylish!

For almost a decade matching accessories or assemblies were considered a bad taste. As many mismatching things that harmoniously are put together the more stylish it was. However, with the adaptation of the aesthetics of the 80s, matchings sets are making a comeback. I am a big fan of how Jeremy Scott does it for Moschino and Dolce and Gabanna for their last collection. The key here, to create a story behind the outfit and keep it within a theme. I will leave you with inspiration from Moschino and DG:

Hey Stylish!

Today’s look was inspired by new trend -humor fashion. More and more fashionistas relax their outfits with quirky and unique accessories to take away some seriousness from the outfits.  The fastest way is adding a pair of unusual sunglasses, which instantly elevate the look and make it feel that you are stylish without even trying. Another way would be jewelry and clutches, even a bag  charm  would work.  Here are some inspirations for you:

Total Leather

Hi Stylish!

Leather has been always been one of the most favorite fabrics of designers like Balenciaga, Gucci, Ulyana Sergeenko. It is one of the hardest material to work with because of its organic nature and stretching properties. When I visited the most famous fabric store in the nation-Mood in NYC, I was impressed by the variety of leather and vegan leather in every color possible that exist nowadays. I am a big fan of black leather though, because it looks much better with moderate wear. This season leather can be seen in different silhouettes, starting with pencil skirts and ending with camisole dresses! (there is one in Zara right now on sale-here) For my outfit I decided to combine ultra trendy culotte bottoms with classic vintage leather top. Here are some of my inspirations:
