Black Kimono and Beloved All Black

Hey, Stylish!

You know that I am in love with the kimono trend recently because the kimono converts any outfit into relaxed, effortlessly chic one. Even at the hottest day in San Francisco (which is almost a nonsense) my vintage kimono was keeping me cold because of its silk and cotton blend. I would really recommend finding your perfect kimono in the local vintage stores because the quality of them is much higher than the modern ones. You can always find kimonos in a robe section in almost any thrift shop. For some runway inspirations, check out Gucci and Alice+Olivia:

Translucent Transperency

Hey stylish!

Summer is definitely time to experiment with colors and textures and learn how to mix them. This season transparent and translucent fabrics is huge trend that would be around for next seasons too. However, not everyone has a courage to wear the translucent top or skirt, and let’s be honest it is not appropriate for work or school. In this look I am wearing my favorite vintage over sized top with mom’s jeans to make it look fresh and sporty rather than “aggressively sexy'” that transparency of fabric can create. I would transition this look to more appropriate for school or any public event by adding a camisole underneath or a crop top. I enjoy this new trend of transparent translucency that could be so translucently transparent!

Here are some inspirations for you from these season translucent trends:

Safari in January: I Love you California!

Hello my stylish friends!

How about safari in January? Safari style in fashion is the compromise between comfort and chic. Usually safari style is associated with beige-brown palette, olive, khaki, but my suggestion is to mix it up with bold colors.Try to mix different textures to avoid cliche. For instance in my look, khaki cotton pants are mixed with silk shirt with oriental motives and woolen Theodora hat. Make it look adventurous and stylish in the same time. As usual, some inspirations from runways for you:

The Long Vest

Hello my stylish friends!

In this season, long vests have became very popular. You can notice a lot of examples on runway, but ones that are extended to mid-thigh and ankle are trending in a major way.8710b1aaf247ea5c7927cc52114c54d6 Balenciaga-Beige-Vest-Runway-Coat-Spring-2015-2

Long vests are perfect over dresses or trousers, buttoned up or belted, you can even layer one under your winter coat. My long vest used to be a vintage coat which was tailored as a vest, and I love it a lot.

Sounds like a good idea for DIY project, right?
