Hey, Stylish!

Florals are so expected to be worn in summer, but there are thousands of ways to wear it unexpectedly. I am a big fan of Alessandro Michele’s politics toward new collections of Gucci house: a dash of vintage vibes, modern cuts and print on print, especially florals on florals or florals on an animal pattern. As you know, I like matching things and for me combining botanical print is the optimal solution for the unconventional way to wear print. I was inspired by a couple of gorgeous examples from the runway:

Hi Stylish!

If anyone still here, I want to apologize for a long break. Since I have a little bit of free time during  summer, I will update on the outfits and trends I found interesting and worth talking about.

Back to the trends. Spring is time for floral prints, which is an obvious, cheesy way to update your look for spring or summer.  However, Sp16/SS16 trends are requiring abstract  representation of floral as well as hyper realistic.  You can find photo realistic floral prints in  Jenny Packman’s spring collection:

more abstract, almost flat and very “patchwork” in Gucci’s:

and very feminine, watercolor florals in  Simone Rocha’s:

So even if you think that florals are predictable for summer, the representation of it is quite different and changes from season to season.

Hello stylish!

We all have these days when you do not want to put too much effort to dress up. You literally want to wear your comfortable pajama or bathrobe all day. However, I have a better solution for you. Go with a trendy robe coat to look chic and effortless at the same time. It is a perfect way to feel cozy and polished. Make sure that all other pieces of your outfit are simple and  composed with clear lines. As usual, some inspirations from runways:

Hello my stylish friends!

Oversized clothes are not baggy anymore! Perhaps “right” oversized outwear or sweater can make you look petite and flatter your look. However it all comes down to balancing out proportions. If you choose oversized top or sweater, the more fitted the rest of your outfit should be.Here are some runway inspirations for you:

Hello my stylish friends!

In this season, long vests have became very popular. You can notice a lot of examples on runway, but ones that are extended to mid-thigh and ankle are trending in a major way.8710b1aaf247ea5c7927cc52114c54d6 Balenciaga-Beige-Vest-Runway-Coat-Spring-2015-2

Long vests are perfect over dresses or trousers, buttoned up or belted, you can even layer one under your winter coat. My long vest used to be a vintage coat which was tailored as a vest, and I love it a lot.

Sounds like a good idea for DIY project, right?

xoxo Xenia
