Hey Stylish!

I have always been fascinated by the work of the famous stylist Patricia Field in the Sex and the City. Even though, she viewed Carrie Bradshaw as a fashion risk taker, many of her outfits were so fashion forward and effortlessly chic at the same time. I really enjoy her outfits in Paris, so feminine and avant-garde at the same time. I tried to adapt this aesthetic into my today’s outfit by taking the feminine silhouettes and mixing them with a bold print mixing technique.  Check out some great Carrie Bradshaw inspirations:

 Hey, Stylish!

Weird and unusually beautiful shoes are having a moment this year. Designers are using unconventional materials and silhouettes to enhance the boldness of the nowadays style. I like the notion of wearing the art on your feet… and wearable art itself. The unusual and unique pieces do not necessarily only come from the runway, here are some of my favorite sources for unique and affordable footwear:

  1. Jeffrey Campbell. My favorite shoe designer and beloved shoe brand. Campbell is an  LA based shoe designer that creates quirky, fresh and super trendy heels, flats and platforms. You can see a lot of IT girls wearing his designs. I own around 7 pairs of Jeffrey Campbell shoes and would love to expand my collection.
  2. Poshmark. A platform for recycling your old wardrobe finds online. You can find a lot of unique, vintage or designer shoes there at affordable prices ( spoiler alert: Jeffrey Campbell as well!!!). The best part about it is that you can bargain and propose your own price.
  3. Y.R.U. Another cool and young brand. It is pretty edgy and has a great variety of Lolita, Goth, and rock chic shoe gear.
  4. eBay. This is a no brainer. You can find anything on eBay, including unique and crazy shoes. My favorites are this and that.
  5. DollsKill. A cool website for one of a kind piece for every taste: edgy, flirty, romantic, punk and etc. They also have huge flash sales very often.

Let me know what are your favorite places to buy the inspirational footwear! If you want to find some new inspirations for unique purses, check out my blog post about it.

Hey, Stylish!

Happy 4th of July all the stylish people from the US! As you know, it’s a tradition to wear the flag abbreviatures for the celebration and I am so happy to experiment with it. The flag theme has always been the inspiration for many designers and you can notice this trend in Balenciaga‘s and Balmain‘s collections. If you want to adopt this trend in real life, try to use it with a humor and mix it up with accessories (in my case a Breton hat). I think the most interesting inspirations are from:

Victor and Rolf:

The Old New Story of Kimono

Hey Stylish!

The story of the kimono has always intrigued Western world and took many forms in the way it is adapted in nowadays wear. We have seen many examples of the new silhouettes and textiles of many variations of the kimonos. I am actually a big fan of the traditional kimonos that are universally flattering. If you want to adapt more wearable look you can mix it with slip dresses (like I did) or with jeans for a more casual, eclectic look. As usual, I leave you with the freshest runway inspirations:

Hey, Stylish!

For almost a decade matching accessories or assemblies were considered a bad taste. As many mismatching things that harmoniously are put together the more stylish it was. However, with the adaptation of the aesthetics of the 80s, matchings sets are making a comeback. I am a big fan of how Jeremy Scott does it for Moschino and Dolce and Gabanna for their last collection. The key here, to create a story behind the outfit and keep it within a theme. I will leave you with inspiration from Moschino and DG:

The Liquid Metal

Hey, Stylish!
I am very happy to have an opportunity to come back and continue tracking down the evolution of my own style and share some of my visual inspiration with you. I like to think of myself as a person who does not do brands or trends, rather wearing what I feel is beautiful. However, it is really hard not to follow fashion, even though the style is the priority. The spring season was defined by three main trends: ruffles, stripes, and metal. However, I always liked metallic hues and always considered them being almost the “new nude”color. Surprisingly, the silver hue with that liquid quality works with almost everything. My favorite combination would be white and silver. As usual, I am very inspired by the runway, since it is most an art form, rather than design. For today’s’ look I was inspired by:

Michael Kors

Hello my stylish friends!

What is the most known fashion pattern that comes in your mind? Right, tartan. The origins of tartan are inextricably linked with the origins of the Scottish nation.Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns. In my look I was interpenetrating the Scottish kilt into trendy outfit. Here are some of my inspirations:
