Hey Stylish!

All we know the stigma that one should not wear white after Labor day, which is a complete false. I truly believe that fashion right now has no rules, gender or boundaries. So please, wear white and all other colors whenever or whatever you want ( maybe just avoid wearing white at someone else’s wedding at least). In today’s look I was not only inspired by my favorite color+ texture technique ( white+metal) but also by the pleated skirt trend that is so hot this season.  Wear the pleated skirts with the bulky sweaters or the longline classic coats to enhance the gentle nature of pleats or go crazy with texture as I did in my look. Here are some inspirations for you:

Head to Toe Velvet or Five Trends in One

Hey, Stylish!
Velvet has been a huge trend since Fall 2015 and is still being seen on multiple runways. However, comparing to the velvet inspirations from 2015 the silhouettes and cuts are more sophisticated and now it is totally common to see shoes and accessories in velvet as well as all clothing possibly imagined. In my today’s look, I combined five trends in one: velvet+wrap dress+fakefur+turban. If you get your inspirations from the runway as I do, you can check out velvet in many unpredictable variations:

And the most interesting part about it is that you can mix and match all the items and silhouettes together, creating a cohesive and ultra trendy look.

Hey Stylish!

I have always been fascinated by the work of the famous stylist Patricia Field in the Sex and the City. Even though, she viewed Carrie Bradshaw as a fashion risk taker, many of her outfits were so fashion forward and effortlessly chic at the same time. I really enjoy her outfits in Paris, so feminine and avant-garde at the same time. I tried to adapt this aesthetic into my today’s outfit by taking the feminine silhouettes and mixing them with a bold print mixing technique.  Check out some great Carrie Bradshaw inspirations:

 Hey, Stylish!

Weird and unusually beautiful shoes are having a moment this year. Designers are using unconventional materials and silhouettes to enhance the boldness of the nowadays style. I like the notion of wearing the art on your feet… and wearable art itself. The unusual and unique pieces do not necessarily only come from the runway, here are some of my favorite sources for unique and affordable footwear:

  1. Jeffrey Campbell. My favorite shoe designer and beloved shoe brand. Campbell is an  LA based shoe designer that creates quirky, fresh and super trendy heels, flats and platforms. You can see a lot of IT girls wearing his designs. I own around 7 pairs of Jeffrey Campbell shoes and would love to expand my collection.
  2. Poshmark. A platform for recycling your old wardrobe finds online. You can find a lot of unique, vintage or designer shoes there at affordable prices ( spoiler alert: Jeffrey Campbell as well!!!). The best part about it is that you can bargain and propose your own price.
  3. Y.R.U. Another cool and young brand. It is pretty edgy and has a great variety of Lolita, Goth, and rock chic shoe gear.
  4. eBay. This is a no brainer. You can find anything on eBay, including unique and crazy shoes. My favorites are this and that.
  5. DollsKill. A cool website for one of a kind piece for every taste: edgy, flirty, romantic, punk and etc. They also have huge flash sales very often.

Let me know what are your favorite places to buy the inspirational footwear! If you want to find some new inspirations for unique purses, check out my blog post about it.

Happy 4th of July or How to wear a flag

Hey, Stylish!

Happy 4th of July all the stylish people from the US! As you know, it’s a tradition to wear the flag abbreviatures for the celebration and I am so happy to experiment with it. The flag theme has always been the inspiration for many designers and you can notice this trend in Balenciaga‘s and Balmain‘s collections. If you want to adopt this trend in real life, try to use it with a humor and mix it up with accessories (in my case a Breton hat). I think the most interesting inspirations are from:

Victor and Rolf:

The Total Print

Hey, Stylish!

A while ago I was very shy to use print on print but after last Prada’s collection, I was inspired so much by the daring, bold combinations that were weirdly pleasant and calming to the eye. If you want to use print on print and make it all come together harmoniously, you should use a formula: one print treated as a basic color+another as a complimentary. For instance, in my look, I treated leopard print as a basic color and stripes as a print itself and this clash created a calm, yet bold combination. I tried experimenting with the leopard print a while ago, but I think it was a much obvious combination. What do you think? If you need some inspirations, check out runway:

Hey, Stylish!

Florals are so expected to be worn in summer, but there are thousands of ways to wear it unexpectedly. I am a big fan of Alessandro Michele’s politics toward new collections of Gucci house: a dash of vintage vibes, modern cuts and print on print, especially florals on florals or florals on an animal pattern. As you know, I like matching things and for me combining botanical print is the optimal solution for the unconventional way to wear print. I was inspired by a couple of gorgeous examples from the runway:
