Hey, Stylish!

Check print is so hot right now starting with a classic jacket cut that has been spotted everywhere at the NYFW. I decided to give a second life to my  90’s dress jacket and pair it with a head to toe vintage. However, you can pair the check trend with almost everything and easily dress it down and dress it up. For instance, pair it with a ripped denim skirt and moto boots for that edgy look or with sequined jeans to glam up the classic cut. I created a couple of collages for your inspiration:

Hey, Stylish!

The gingham has been so popular Spring 17 and this Summer that you can see this print in any store and collection. I decided to pair my gingham Victoria Beckham x Target suit with the polka dot Jeffrey Campbell platform to bring some edginess to the very preppy and polished print. I would recommend pairing the graphic prints with a pop of color, for example, mega trendy red color to enhance the contrast. I also put together some of the outfits for you as a fresh perspective how to transition your gingham into Fall season:

Hey, Stylish!

You know that I am in love with the kimono trend recently because the kimono converts any outfit into relaxed, effortlessly chic one. Even at the hottest day in San Francisco (which is almost a nonsense) my vintage kimono was keeping me cold because of its silk and cotton blend. I would really recommend finding your perfect kimono in the local vintage stores because the quality of them is much higher than the modern ones. You can always find kimonos in a robe section in almost any thrift shop. For some runway inspirations, check out Gucci and Alice+Olivia:

Head to Toe Velvet or Five Trends in One

Hey, Stylish!
Velvet has been a huge trend since Fall 2015 and is still being seen on multiple runways. However, comparing to the velvet inspirations from 2015 the silhouettes and cuts are more sophisticated and now it is totally common to see shoes and accessories in velvet as well as all clothing possibly imagined. In my today’s look, I combined five trends in one: velvet+wrap dress+fakefur+turban. If you get your inspirations from the runway as I do, you can check out velvet in many unpredictable variations:

And the most interesting part about it is that you can mix and match all the items and silhouettes together, creating a cohesive and ultra trendy look.
Let me know what do you think about velvet trend!

 Hey, Stylish!

Weird and unusually beautiful shoes are having a moment this year. Designers are using unconventional materials and silhouettes to enhance the boldness of the nowadays style. I like the notion of wearing the art on your feet… and wearable art itself. The unusual and unique pieces do not necessarily only come from the runway, here are some of my favorite sources for unique and affordable footwear:

  1. Jeffrey Campbell. My favorite shoe designer and beloved shoe brand. Campbell is an  LA based shoe designer that creates quirky, fresh and super trendy heels, flats and platforms. You can see a lot of IT girls wearing his designs. I own around 7 pairs of Jeffrey Campbell shoes and would love to expand my collection.
  2. Poshmark. A platform for recycling your old wardrobe finds online. You can find a lot of unique, vintage or designer shoes there at affordable prices ( spoiler alert: Jeffrey Campbell as well!!!). The best part about it is that you can bargain and propose your own price.
  3. Y.R.U. Another cool and young brand. It is pretty edgy and has a great variety of Lolita, Goth, and rock chic shoe gear.
  4. eBay. This is a no brainer. You can find anything on eBay, including unique and crazy shoes. My favorites are this and that.
  5. DollsKill. A cool website for one of a kind piece for every taste: edgy, flirty, romantic, punk and etc. They also have huge flash sales very often.

Let me know what are your favorite places to buy the inspirational footwear! If you want to find some new inspirations for unique purses, check out my blog post about it.

Unmixable Mix

Hey Stylish!

Today I decided to mix my  preppy heels with a quirky vintage jumpsuit. If you look at the street fashion trends recently, they all promote playfulness and ability to mix low with high, new with old, color with monochrome. So if you want to give some of your favorite pieces second life, just mix it with unpredictable item: sportswear with heels, puffy skirt with sneakers or leather jacket with lingerie dress. And of course some denim inspirations from different decades:

Hey Stylish!

The summer is almost over and I definitely need to talk about must-have shoes of this season: gladiator sandals.  Gladiator sandals with extravagant design could become a statement piece of the outfit, so keep it simple. Monochromatic and neutral colors would be great decision for picking up gladiator sandals since they “cut” the proportions of the leg and potentially can make your legs look more corpulent.  Some high-fashion inspiration for you from Alexander McQueen:
